We recognise how important a robust Health and Safety management system is to our clients, and how a safe, tidy and well-run project can enhance their business reputation – as well as our own.
We are committed to complying with the Health and Safety in Employment Act (1992) and its subsequent amendments, regulations relating to this Act, Codes of Practice and all other safe operational procedures. And we are committed to ensuring a safe working environment for all our employees and subcontractors. Health and safety planning, monitoring, knowledge-sharing, and training form key areas of our activities and are responsibilities shared by all Auckland Civil directors, employees and allied subcontractors. In order to ensure a safe working environment we have in place a Health and Safety System that manages all risks and obligations.
All Auckland Civil staff members undergo regular and appropriate Site Safe training, with special emphasis on accident prevention on sites with moving machinery, trenches and open excavations, services, trip hazards, concrete and hazardous chemicals, noise, dust and other hazards. Many of our staff are trained first aiders and are updated on a two yearly basis in order to refresh.
As testimony to the effectiveness of our health and safety system, we have never had a serious injury related to a workplace accident.
Our H&S system is audited to AS/NZS4801:2001 and we are ACC WSMP accredited at the Tertiary Level.
